Peacock (Mayoorasan)

From the Kneeling pose, lean forward and rest your torso on your arms with your hands flat on
the mat and pointing toward your feet.  Take a breath and balance with your legs stretched out as
shown.  Hold this pose for as long as you can without undue strain.
Balancing Asanas
Crow (Kakasana)

Start again in the Kneeling pose.  Rise onto your tiptoes, keeping your knees bent.  Place your
hands on the mat in front of you.  With your arms bent as shown, carefully rest your knees on
your upper arms and balance.  You will find it easier to maintain your balance if you keep your
head down.  Hold for as long as you can.  You can breathe in this asana.  At first you might see if
you can stay balanced for four breaths.
Often, when coming down from the Crow onto my feet, I straighten up and relax, taking four
breaths while upright.  Then I am in position to do the standing asanas.
