Twist (Ardha Matsendrasan)
Relax in the Adept’s pose, or the Easy pose. Tuck your right heel firmly against your perineum.
Using your hands as needed, bring your left foot over to a position to the right of your right
thigh, left sole flat on the floor, left knee bent. Then twist your torso, neck and head to the left.
Reach toward your right toes with your right had. Bring your left hand around behind you and
reach for your left ankle. Hold this position for four breaths.
Repeat in the opposite direction.
This asana can be done twice in each direction, for a total of four repetitions. After you have
been practicing it for a while, you will be able to reach your ankles and toes. This will come with
time. Take it easy.
